　　According to the online gaming legalization bill currently being debated in New Jersey, only those online gaming operators would be able to apply for a license that have managed to form a partnership with a New Jersey land-based casino.

　　By taking over Atlantic Club Casino, PokerStars would almost instantly be able to launch its real money online poker services in the state. Likewise, it would not be required to form a partnership and share revenues with a third party New Jersey land-based casino.

　　By now it's also certain that no matter what federal online poker bill would be adopted in the future, it would most likely only give access to the US poker market to those companies that either own US land-based casinos or have formed a partnership with such casinos.

　　Owning a land-based casino in New Jersey, PokerStars would be able to do what no other foreign online poker site would be able to do, which is legally accessing the US online poker market. If PokerStars will indeed manage to take over Atlantic Club Casino then it's extremely likely that the above scenario would indeed take place sometimes in the future.
