　　US land-casino giant Caesars Entertainment received an intrastate online poker license from the Nevada Gaming Commission. The new license will allow the company to provide legal online poker services to Nevada residents.

　　Caesars is the newest US land-casino to receive an online poker license in the state on Nevada. The license will permit the venture to provide online poker games and tournaments within the border of the state. With this, the number of Nevada licensed poker operators increased to 17.

　　Recently Caesars formed an online gaming division under the name Caesars Interactive Entertainment in order to be able to offer real money online poker and possibly even online casino gaming services in the United States once these practices will become legal.

　　The first step to establish a foothold in the US real money online gaming market was to acquire an online poker license in Nevada. This license has now been granted and as such the company is cleared to provide legal online poker services in the state once online poker will officially be launched.

　　Nevada is at this moment the only state where real money online poker is legal. Still, operators are not yet able to offer their services because the state's online gaming regulator the Nevada Gaming Commission did not yet give the green light to online poker.

　　Nevada is expected to launch real money online poker sometimes during Q1 or Q2 2013. Caesars will still not be able to offer real money online poker because its technology and platform provider 888.com is not yet licensed.

　　Caesars' online poker technology will be provided by the renowned European online casino and poker operator 888.com. 888 already applied for a Nevada technology provider license but it's expected that this license will only be awarded to the venture sometimes during 2013.

　　Nevada-licensed online poker operators such as Caesars are counting on the regulation of online poker on a federal level. The reason they applied for a Nevada license is that it's very likely that once online poker will be legalized on a federal level their Nevada licenses will become valid all over the US as well.
