The World Series of Poker is designed to allow the players that can grind out hands to succeed. The $10,000 buy-in, Heads-up No-Limit Hold'em tournament that began on Tuesday is a testament to this type of action, and now the tournament is heading for home with only two participants remaining.

Jason Mo and Brian Hastings are set to face off for the championship bracelet and the $371,498 first place prize money after both survived a field of 152. The field was smaller than anticipated, with a maximum of 512 players allowed to enter. The low entry number shows that players have become more apt to go after big paydays in tournaments where thousands of players enter.

Regardless, Mo and Hastings will start the final heads-up match with 3,840,000 chips each. There is still plenty at stake, as second place only will take home $229,722, almost $150,000 less than first place. The third and fourth place finishers won $130,606 for their efforts.

Several other events have recently concluded at the WSOP. Andy Bloch, a seasoned veteran, took home the first place money in the Seven Card Stud event. Barry Greenstein and David Williams made runs throughout the tournament, but finished the event in second and fourth, respectively.

Event #6 was a No-Limit Hold'em Mixed Max tournament with a $5,000 buy-in. Aubin Cazals won first place in the tourney, earning almost $500,000. Joseph Cheong and Warwick Mirzikinian closed the event in second and third place.

Nick Jivkov outlasted 639 players in Event #5, a Pot-Limit Hold'em tournament. Jivkov won $189,818 for his first place finish, and Bryan Pellegrino finished the tournament in second, claiming $117,199.

Outside of the heads-up event, four other tournaments are in progress at the Rio. The latest to begin was Event #16, a No-Limit Hold'em/Six Handed tournament, which will run through Saturday.
