　　Spain is the newest European country that has regulated online gambling. Initially many companies and observers have criticized the country because seemingly it had imposed a very high tax rate on online gambling. Now it appears that the high tax does not negatively influence gambling companies in a significant way.

　　The only problem regarding the online gambling laws of Spain is the fact that online poker operators are forced to ring fence their Spanish players. This means that poker players from Spain are not able to play against players located in other countries.

　　Likewise, online slot gaming is still not regulated in the country. This is one of the reasons why 888's online casino operation did not manage to achieve significant results yet. Online slot games are expected to become regulated sometimes in the future though.
