Gaming company made bo income increase and online gaming revenue decline

Renowned online and offline gambling operator Ladbrokes just published its financial report for the full year of 2012. According to the report, the venture managed to increase its revenues, however profits from its online branch declined.

Ladbrokes' newest financial performance report revealed that in 2012 the venture managed to increase its revenues with 7.4%. This amounted for a total of GBP 1.05 billion. The operating profits of the company were of GBP 206 million which was an increase of 8% compared to the year before.

This was mostly achieved by the great success reported in the company's offline sector. For example, just in the UK the company managed to cash in GBP 180.7 million in 2012. This represents an increase of 18.6% compared to 2011. As a consequence of this, the company plans to open at least 100 new gaming shops in the UK in 2013.

However the company achieved its lowest performance in years in regards to income generated form online gambling activities. In 2012 the company managed to cash in GBP 31.8 million in form of income originating from online gaming which represents a substantial decrease of 39%.

Ladbrokes CEO Richard Glynn however believes that this will change very soon due to the latest technological innovations the company has implemented. The venture will also implement new additions such as new games and betting content that will further fuel revenue growth.

Glynn also pointed out that the company will soon completely overhaul its online sports betting platform. This is expected to offer better gaming opportunities to players, ensuring a better player retention and substantially higher revenues generated.

The company will in 2013 also heavily invest in mobile gaming technology that will gradually be introduced during the year. Since mobile betting represents the future of online sports betting, CEO Glynn believes that the new innovations the company is about to implement will turn things around and ensure substantial profits in the second half of 2013.

Despite the decline in profits generated from online gambling, Ladbrokes remains one of the largest offline and online operators on the market. The operator is active in multiple countries in Europe, however it's most popular in its home country, the United Kingdom.
